A perfect day for cycling was enjoyed by riders. No wind and periods of cloud cover provided great weather conditions and the Woolamai Race Track was deemed a successful start / finish venue that provided a relaxed country feeling.
Highlights of the Bass Hills Classic as mentioned by the rides included:
"there was virually no cars on the roads", I reckon' I only had six cars past me", "there wasn't one Main Rd in the whole ride"
"less riders makes for a more enjoyeable ride, no one is falling over each other through the ride"
twisting and turning roads "there's plenty of them"
challenging hills, "you didn't have to travel far before hitting the hills", "the hills aren't too step but are still challenging"
marshals sharing their friendly country hospitality "the Phillip Island BUG do a great job"
home made muffins, and rum balls at the refreshment centres "I ate a few too many"
a well organised event "thanks for orgnanising the day"
The feedback was positive and the riders are looking forward to the 2013 Bass Hills Classic ride.
